The Creed Catering Supplies distribution centre, which opened in July this year, is now fully operational, employing over 35 new staff.
The foodservice wholesaler, Creed Catering Supplies, whose head office is in Gloucestershire, purchased the distribution centre, on the Manners Industrial Estate in Ilkeston, Derbyshire earlier this year as part of the businesses strategic expansion plans.
There are now 10 delivery routes operating from the Ilkeston depot, serving caterers from London to the north east. Caterers supplied by Creed Catering Supplies, can order everything they need conveniently and easily – whether it’s fruit and vegetables, meat, milk, dry goods or frozen food - all from one daily delivery.
Philip de Ternant, operations director for Creed Catering Supplies said: “We are delighted with the progress we’ve made so far. We’ve managed to recruit some great staff from the local area, who are making all the difference in helping Creed Catering Supplies to reach new customers successfully, and help maintain our existing relationships across the region.
“We have invested in new infrastructure around the site to make sure it’s a safe and pleasant environment for all our staff, and everyone is really pulling out all the stops to take Creed to the next level.”
As Creed Catering Supplies continues to expand, it is expected that more jobs will be created at the Ilkeston site.
With over 5,000 pallets of multi-temperature storage capacity, the £2.5 million investment in the Ilkeston unit reinforces the wholesaler’s credentials as a credible alternative to its national competitors.
Creed Catering Supplies recently purchased Cirencester-based, speciality food company Cardston Ltd, which trades as Mise en Place. Last year Creed Catering Supplies won the £6 million contract to supply the restaurants of UK’s leading garden centre specialists – Wyevale Garden Centres – nationwide.
