Creed Catering Supplies and SOHO Coffee reduce food miles in groundbreaking partnership

Creed Catering Supplies is working in partnership with food and coffee retailer SOHO Coffee to supply food for its network of stores. Food is locally sourced wherever possible, helping to reduce SOHO’s carbon footprint and support its brand ethos.

The agreement, worth close to £1 million, means Creed Catering will supply SOHO with all their food requirements from fresh fruit and vegetables to dry goods and frozen foods, which will arrive at the SOHO kitchen, in one convenient daily delivery, from the Staverton-based Creed depot, reducing food miles.

Family-owned foodservice wholesaler Creed is situated in the heart of Gloucestershire – a county renowned for its food and farming.  By forging relationships with local producers, Creed Catering Supplies is able to bring the very best local produce to the places we eat.

Chris Creed, Managing director of Creed Catering Supplies said:  “Some of the best food in the country is made right here on our doorstep.  Creed Catering Supplies is working with a number of local producers and it’s great we’re now working more closely with SOHO to supply all the local food and ingredients they need for their coffee shops”.

SOHO Coffee Co. is an independent coffee shop chain with a network of seven shops, seven airport franchises and one motorway franchise, largely concentrated in South West England and Wales.

Working with Creed means growing chain SOHO is able to continue using ingredients sourced locally and provide its customers with locally-produced food, without sacrificing market share.

Penny Manuel, director of SOHO Coffee Co said:  “Reducing food miles and supporting local producers is just part of the SOHO ethos.  Helping to look after the environment is also a very important part of our business, and it’s great to be able to work with Creed Catering Supplies who share our passion for local sourcing.”
