Creed Foodservice: Sustainable Trading

Philip de Ternant, Operations Director at Creed Foodservice says: “We have invested £750 000 this year in upgrading our fleet to deliver enhanced fuel efficiency and the most efficient fleet  refrigeration available.  Our new DAF 15 tonne multi temperature vehicles are built by Solomon to our high specifications and include Frigoblock refrigeration.  This is in our opinion the coldest and most efficient refrigeration available for multi-temperature distribution to caterers as it uses the vehicle’s own engine, not a separate engine burning more diesel.

“We’ve also implemented a revised Environmental policy throughout our organisation at our two depots in Cheltenham and Ilkeston.  This includes the installation of light movement detectors in our offices, new recycling programmes throughout our organisation, including warehouse plastic and cardboard which is now compacted, palletised and collected for recycling, replacement warehouse lighting with new low energy units and the installation of ‘PowerPerfector’ voltage optimising energy saving units.

“Staff awareness and support for our Environmental Policy is high and actively encouraged by the Environmental Champions we have put in place at each site. As a team we are working hard to achieve ISO 14001 in 2010.”
